Raising Awareness of Alström Syndrome in the Asian Community
The Asian Mentoring Scheme is a project designed specifically for families affected by Alström Syndrome.
The aim of the project is to work within Asian communities to raise awareness of the condition and to support families to develop a greater understanding of the complex nature of Alström Syndrome.
You can learn more about the project and receive updates on new developments by viewing our 2012 – 2013 Progress Report here
If you would like further information about the project then please contact Kerry Leeson-Beevers, Development Manager on 01709 210151 or send an email to Kerry
Please download a Medical Handbook in English here or in Urdu here. This handbook is mainly aimed at Medical Professionals but may also be used by people diagnosed with Alström Syndrome and their families and carers.
Alternatively you can request copies of these documents to be sent to you by sending an email to Kerry Leeson-Beevers
We would welcome your comments about the project and any ideas you may have to help raise awareness of Alström Syndrome. It is a very rare condition and we want to ensure we are doing all we can to find any new members and provide support and access to our specialised clinics in Birmingham.
