Join Our Team!

AS UK have places available in the Silverstone Half Marathon and the Bupa London 10K Marathon and we are looking for motivated individuals who want to take on this challenge and raise vital funds for our great cause. We would also like to hear from you if you have secured your own place in a sporting event and would like to raise funds for AS UK. For further information please contact Catherine Lewis on 01803 368871 or email catherine.lewis@alstrom.org.uk.

Raise money for AS UK by doing something you enjoy – having friends round for dinner!

You start by creating your own “Dinner Page” on the Dinner4Good website (takes about 5 minutes) then automatic invitations will be sent from the site. Your friends then accept and donate on-line, which means you see who is coming and how much is being raised – in a click. It reduces the awkwardness of asking for money and there’s no hassle with collecting cash.

  • Dinner4Good takes care of everything, including the Gift Aid application, so all you need to do is eat, drink and enjoy yourselves!
  • Over dinner tell your friends about ASUK and they may also want to hold a Dinner4Good of their own – so the good goes on and on!

Click here to go to our Dinner4Good webpage and you will see how easy it is to host a dinner party and raise money at the same time.

AS UK is now registered with Recycle 4 Charity. You can recycle your old mobile phones, inkjet cartridges, laser or toner cartridges. This service is 100% free and provides donations for your used items from £1-£30 per item. Look on www.recycle4charity.co.uk {Link to site} for more information.

Alternatively contact Catherine Lewis on 01803 613117 or email Catherine who can assist with fundraising support and provide you with a recycling bag for your items.

Another brilliant way, potentially, to raise funds for AS UK and raise awareness is by giving talks about Alström Syndrome to local groups in your area such as Lions, Rotary, local schools, Scouts etc…

Last year Kerry gave a talk to her local Rotary group, which was a great success and was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of Alström Syndrome. Afterwards we were delighted to receive a cheque for £250 which is marvellous.

Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice.

Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you’re a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.

Payroll Giving (workplace giving) is a valuable, long term source of revenue, providing regular income to help charities budget and plan ahead more effectively. Employees can choose to support Alström Syndrome UK with a regular donation direct from their pay.

It’s cheaper because its tax free – for example, a donation of £5 per month costs the basic rate tax payer £4.00 (the taxman pays the rest!)

Higher rate taxpayers- the only way to pass on your 40% or 50% tax to charities. Only 28% can be recouped via other ways of giving.
